A Brief Retrospection
The Society traces its roots back to 1917, when Rajarshi Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj of Kolhapur proposed to establish a Memorial of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in the City of Pune with the intention of creating a central hall with a life size statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and a hostel to accommodate a hundred Maratha students.
In 1921, the Prince of Wales laid the foundation-stone of All India Shri Shivaji Memorial Society with great fervour and gaiety.
The Society made a foray into higher and technical education in 1992 and since then it has been only grown in its role of providing quality education and excellence.
Leadership & Organization
AISSMS is overseen by President Shri Shahu Chhatrapati Maharaj and the society’s board of trustees, who comprise the governing and policy-making body known formally as the Governing Council.
The society is also led and supported by the Society Cabinet, an advisory body convened by the Honorary Secretary Shri Malojiraje Chhatrapati, which consists of the Deans, Senior Managers, and other Senior Academic and Administrative Leaders.
Commitment to Service
It has always been the motto of AISSMS to sculpt individuals who are not only invaluable assets to their respective organisations but are also responsible and integral members of our society. With this in mind, all our efforts throughout our education system are geared towards moulding responsible, law abiding citizens, who stand poised to answer the nation’s call. This is reflected in the rigour of our preparatory military school and also an integral part of our engineering, Hotel Management, information technology and other premier institutes. Taking a leaf out of our glorious past, we aim to ensure that the future of India is in safe hands.
All India Shri Shivaji Memorial Society has grown and evolved for 95-plus years, passing many milestones and forging traditions along the way.
AISSMS Today
AISSMS is now a widespread educational society with a wide array of programs, departments, schools, centres, and other prestigious institutions.
Among these are Residential schools, Day schools and Junior Colleges that cover both academic and vocational disciples. AISSMS also boasts a world class institutes with strategic collaborations with national as well as international organizations that allows an import of trainings as per the latest trends.
The institutes like College of Hotel Management and Catering Technology, the College of Pharmacy, the Engineering College, the Management College runs in more than one shifts which in turn allows the accommodation of a larger number of students along with hosting a wide spectrum of disciplines.
We have a proud tradition of ensuring holistic education and with this in mind, we run under-graduate and masters level programmes in all our colleges except the Polytechnic. All of these programmes are affiliated to the reputed Pune University, AICT New Delhi, PCI New Delhi, MSBTE and DTE Government of Maharashtra.
With a focus on quality education, we have obtained accreditation from the National Board of Accreditation for most of our colleges and have also signed MOU’s with various universities across the globe to conduct composite programmes of excellence and global standards. We truly believe in ensuring complete education and are proud of set up that imparts world class education from KG to PG. The state-of-the-art infrastructure provides the ideal environment for research and doctoral studies.
Our focus is 360-degree development and we strive to achieve this every year. As a result, year after successful year, we produce University toppers and brand ambassadors for culture and sports. Our successful alumni continue to distinguish themselves the world over and have won many a laurel for their institutes.
At AISSMS, all our flagship institutes are now on a path of rapid growth. The aim is to create a community, which is vibrant and dynamic and one that provides lifelong learning and professional development. Time and again our efforts towards excellence have been studied and lauded by industrialists, corporates, academicians and students alike.
